Better Action For Families AGM 2017 A Big Success

It was another fantastic AGM with about 70 people attending.

Val Hewison from Carers Leeds was the guest speaker and delivered a speech about the joint work Carers Leeds & Better Action For Families have done for nearly 10 years to make things better for carers of adults and children with learning disabilities and their families.

Val also joined Kausar Iqbal for a photo in The Bridge Happy Snappy Photobooth, which everyone enjoyed.

Better Action For Families volunteers spoke about the work on our allotment and how proud they all are of the 2nd and 3rd prizes they won for their fruit and vegetables at the Middleton produce fair a few weeks ago.

Yvonne Ugarte also wrote a very moving poem which she read out to say goodbye to Better Action for Families Chair Sam who will be greatly missed.

The Ginger Cat Theatre Company performed a play about removing barriers for adults with learning disabilities so everyone can all be included. The play was written for Better Action for Families to show the work they do to make all their sessions inclusive.

The meeting finished with lunch buffet from the Brew Cafe and curry from Pami with dancing to the music of the brilliant Skyfallers.
