Learning Disability Week is a week of national campaigning and awareness raising run by Mencap every year.

 

Find out what is happening in Learning Disability Week – we are working hard with colleagues to ensure there are lots of exciting events for you to go to!

Monday 17 June

Health Check Launch

Information to raise awareness of the importance of having a Health Check will be displayed in a variety of location and localities across the City.  This includes Sports Centres and other public venues and a number of businesses. Watch out for buses across the City which will display the posters. Media including South Leeds Radio will carry news of the launch. There will be posters and flyers available in GP surgeries across the city and at events during the week.

Progress for Providers | One Year On 
1.30pm – 3.30pm
Venue: TBC

Last year Progress for Providers was launched in Leeds. This year, again in Learning Disability Week, there is an event to hear about the progress that has been made. This will be a chance to celebrate what has been achieved and learn from the challenges which providers have overcome.

This free event is aimed at first line managers. Each organisation may have up to four places.

These will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so please book promptly.

Dangers of Using Loan Sharks

Raising Awareness of Loan Sharks for people with learning disabilities, parents and carers.

Sensory Leeds - Open House
From 9am to 6pm drop by and see what Sensory Leeds have on offer! Flop on the waterbed, meet others, have a chat, admire the new fantastic artwork provided by Art Matters.
