William Merritt Disabled Living Centre and Mobility Service

Offers free information, assessments and advice on everyday living equipment for disabled people of all ages, their carers, professionals and older people. Including stairlifts, wheelchairs, kitchen gadgets, beds, chairs, toileting, mobility scooters.

Anyone can make an appointment with one of our Occupational Therapists to discuss your needs in more detail.

Children's service offers free assessments and advice for disabled children, their parents and carers.

Switches project offers free assessments and advice and technology such as computers, iPods.

Mobility service offers driving assessments and passenger care assessments as well as how to get wheelchairs in and out of a car. There is a charge for that service.

William Merritt Disabled Living Centre and Mobility Service provide

  • Open access to service - anyone can refer.
  • Not bound by budgets/eligibility guidelines - can help find whatever equipment is available, to do whatever the young people and their families want to do.
