Mencap is a membership organisation which campaigns at local and national levels for people with learning disabilities, families and carers. It offers a wide range of services and information, including

• leisure facilities,
• residential homes,
• education
• employment opportunities.

Locally, the Leeds and Wakefield District Committee campaigns on behalf of people with learning disabilities and their rights, and aims to address any issues that they face.

Nationally, the Community Support Team offers information and support to groups and individuals seeking to access or develop services and to understand their rights.

Mencap Mencap produces a factsheet that contains information about holidays for people with learning disabilities. It is divided into a number of headings: financial help towards the cost of a holiday; holiday information providers; holiday insurers; specific holiday locations; activity holidays; self-catering holidays; holidays for adults; holidays for children.
