Occupational Therapists work with adults with a learning disability and also health problems who are having difficulties carrying out activities that are important to them. They offer comprehensive assessment of skill and function, therapy programmes including grading activities, and evaluation of progress. They also seek to improve participation in personal and domestic activities with the aim of increasing independence and fulfilling a person's potential. All interventions are client and carer-centred.
