LEARNING DISABILITY REFERENCE GROUP - MEETING

This group has been set up to collect the views and wishes of people with learning disabilities. These can then be passed on to the Partnership Board for Adults with Learning Disabilities. This will help the Board plan the services that people want.

The following report is about their first event in June. It has been written by Michael Cass, Project Worker for the User Involvement Project:

The day began by the Day Service Modernisation Team being interviewed by Shelley Barnett. This went well, we got to know some of the things that this group has found out. We then asked some questions, and ran a fun game to find out about the different things that we like.

After this we had discussion groups around tables where we thought about where day services should go in the future. Then we had a summing up and then lunch.

NEW PROJECT

Tell This is the name of a new project that will provide support to people with learning disabilities who have been abused. Leeds Voluntary Sector Learning Disability Forum will be advertising for a worker or an organisation that will be able to do this work.
