Where to Start?

There are two Social Services teams in Leeds who make sure that adults with learning disabilities receive community care services. They are the Care Management Team and the Adult Learning Disability Team.

To have an assessment and be provided with services by either of these teams, an individual must have a learning disability What Is A Learning Disability? and meet other criteria as appropriate. If you are, or if you know of an individual with learning disabilities aged 18 or over and who needs help or support, contact:

Care Management Team for Adults with a Learning Disability or Adult Learning Disability Team.

If you are looking for help with a child with a learning disability contact the Childrens Disability Team.

After taking some basic details, it is likely that they may suggest that some time is spent finding out exactly what is needed and how it could be arranged. This is known as an assessment.
