Statementing

The Education Department has to make sure that the most appropriate schools and education are planned for all children with special needs. The process is called Statementing . It takes time to complete and involves many workers. It is very important therefore, to ensure that the planning starts as soon as possible. Parents can name the school they want their child to go to during the statementing process.

The workers for the scheme are called Responsible Officers . They can give general advice about the way statementing works. A leaflet about it is available from:
