Leeds City Council will be holding a free film screening of award winning Suffragette film on Millennium Square.

This is an event that is being hosted as part of Leeds’ programme of events celebrating some women getting the vote 100 years ago.

Bring along chairs, blankets and picnics to set yourself up for an evening of award-winning cinema. Suffrage fancy dress and purple and green clothing are encouraged.

The doors open at 6:00PM. You don't need to book a ticket and the event is completely free. Be sure to get there early to get a good place to sit so you can see the film.

As well as the Suffragette film, Leeds City Council will also be showing the Yorkshire Women of the Century film. This will start 7:00PM, followed by Suffragette film immediately after, which will start at 7:15PM.

A couple things that you should know

Although food can be brought onto the site, alcohol will not be permitted. However, alcohol and ice-cream can be purchased on the site.

Also, the film is a 12a, therefore, adults planning to bring a child under 12 should consider whether the film is suitable for that child.
