Local Offer Live: Preparing for Adulthood
Following the successful event in June there will be another Leeds Local Offer Live: Preparing for Adulthood market place.
The aim of this market place event is to bring to life many of the services listed on the Leeds Local Offer website for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) as they grow into adulthood. There will be opportunity to talk with service providers and professionals, to ask about further education, preparation for employment, social and leisure activities, individual support and much more.
The event is aimed at young people (aged 14 to 25 years) their parents, carers and health and care professionals and we hope that the later time of 2-7pm will let us welcome more families to find out about the wide range of options available for young adults post-16.
Please register on Eventbrite giving an idea of your visit time so that we can balance the flow around the market place.
About the Leeds Local Offer Live
When children grow up the transition into adulthood can be a difficult one, and it can be especially hard for a young person with additional needs. The Leeds Local Offer aims to make that transition more seamless. Leeds City Council, in conjunction with Tenfold (the Learning Disability Forum and part of Forum Central), and Leeds City College are holding a market place where you can discuss the many different opportunities offered to people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) post-16.
Many of the service providers are from the voluntary and community sector and you may be familiar with them; but you might not know about the wide variety of services they cover, including social and leisure activities, preparation for employment, individual support and much more.
