Purple Patch Arts new Togetherness Project

Purple Patch Arts new Togetherness Project provides free creative sessions for people aged 50+ with and without learning disabilities.

Social isolation can be a significant problem for people with learning disabilities. Based on some of the learning from Time to Shine's learning disability community development project Bee Together, Purple Patch Arts will offer a new weekly social group in Beeston. It will take an integrated approach and be open to older adults with learning disabilities as well as those without.

The activities will take form based on the needs and wants of the group, and plan to use various creative approaches (music, dance, art) to provide educational opportunities and growth, while shaping a space where people can connect socially.

Younger volunteers will help support the weekly sessions, to encourage connections across generations.

Sessions start on 28 September and will be held every Friday during term time.

Fridays, during term time.
