Teens and Twenties
Teens and Twenties
Social groups in Leeds for people with learning disabilities and autistic people aged 16 to 29.
Our social groups support people to learn new skills, become more independent, have fun and make friends. Our groups are member led, meaning the members choose the activities we do. Some of the things people have chosen include laser quest, cinema, circus skills, karaoke and game nights, just to name a few. We go to a different venue in Leeds each week.
We have up to 15 members and two members of staff in each group.
There are five Teens and Twenties groups per week:
- Monday to Thursday evenings, 6.30pm to 8.30pm,
- and Saturday daytime.
The groups are free to join but you pay for the activities.
The usual weekly groups don’t run for two weeks over Easter and 6 weeks over summer, but instead we run activities that include trips, residentials, courses and workshops. This is also an opportunity to meet with members from other groups and make more friends! Some of the many places we have been include Flamingo Land, Scarborough, the Deep, theatre trips, Xscape, and Yorkshire Wildlife Park. We also do local and cheaper activities such as picnics, games in the park, visiting York, drama workshops, relationships courses, and canal boat trips.
