Background of the Learning Disability Partnership Board

The Learning Disability Partnership Board is a group of people who help join up work in Leeds for people with a learning disability. The Board can include people with a learning disability, family carers, staff from organisations that give support, and Council staff that commission support services. (Commissioning means choosing and paying for services.)

This document gives the background of the Leeds Learning Disability Partnership Board. It was made in 2020 so some of the contact details are out of date.

The Leeds Learning Disability Strategy 2023 update

In 2018 the Partnership Board made The Leeds Learning Disability Strategy. This is a plan for changing things in Leeds to improve the lives of people with a learning disability and family carers. The strategy was for 2018 to 2021.

Because of Covid there was not a new strategy in 2021. In 2023 there was an update to the strategy, for 2023 to 2025.

2023 Learning Disability Day Opportunity Standards

Companies that provide day opportunities worked with people with learning disabilities, their families, and Leeds City Council to make these standards.

A standard is an agreed way of doing something. It helps people get what they need and to be treated fairly.
